Wison-designed Adipic Acid Plant N2O Emission Reduction Project of China ShenMa Group Co., Ltd got the third prize in the 2008 Chemical Ind

Release time:2008-12-13

In December 2008, the "Adipic Acid Plant N2O Emission Reduction Project of China ShenMa Group Co., Ltd", whose detailed designing work was undertaken by Wison, got the 3rd prize in the 2008 Chemical Industry Excellent Project Design Award, after going through a scientific, prudent, factual review made by experts from China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association, and a comprehensive comparison and consideration made by the review committee of Chemical Industry Excellent Project Survey and Design Award.

The former adipic acid plant of China ShenMa Group Co., Ltd employed the processing of using nitric acid to catalyze and oxidize KA oil to produce adipic acid. However, in this process, a large amount of nitrogen oxides (nitrous gas) was generated. Although the emission of nitrous gas was reduced after several processes, such as the nitrous gas absorption tower, still a great deal of N2O was emitted into the atmosphere, seriously polluting the environment. To reduce the greenhouse gas emission, ShenMa Group entrusted Wison to undertake the detailed designing work of the former adipic acid plant N2O emission reduction project. While designing, Wison learned from the foreign advanced technologies, and this design was first applied in engineering design in China. Calculating from this plant's current actual production capacity, i.e. 57,000 tons of adipic acid every year, after being put into application, this emission reduction project can reduce the N2O emission by 16,800 tons every year, which means 4.08 million tons of CO2.  Therefore, this project is of great significance for environment protection, and can do benefits to the harmonious development of environment and economy. It complies with the nation's industrial policy, and thus is included in the nation's preferential developing projects.
