The 2008 Shanghai Science and Technology Award was granted to 300 projects (persons), among which Wison's 'Ethylene Cracking Furnace Technology Development and Application Project' won third prize under the category of "Science and Technology Progress". The Award has four major categories: "Natural Science", "Technical Innovation", "Science and Technology Progress" and "International Science and Technology Cooperation".
On February 27, 2009, the CPC Shanghai Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Government held the 2008 Shanghai Science and Technology Award Ceremony at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Yu Zhengsheng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee attended the meeting and made an important speech. Han Zheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Shanghai Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, presided over the meeting. Shen Xiaoming, Vice Mayor of Shanghai read the Government's decision on awarding prizes to the winners the 2008 Shanghai Science and Technology Award. Yu Zhengsheng, on behalf of municipal government, expressed warm congratulations to all prize winners.
